In January 2021, I launched the National Association of Cannabis Accountants where I continue to teach accountants all aspects of cannabis accounting requirements.

Can you tell us what type of business you run and how long you've been operating this business?
I’ve been a CPA for over 15 years now. The last 4 years I’ve niched down into accounting for the cannabis industry. I’ve been working with clients and training accountants in this niche for 4 years. Can you share with us some details about how you got started in the Accounting Industry?
I majored in accounting and started in accounting out of college.
If you've had some challenges and roadblocks along the way, Can you share with us what some of those challenges have been in regards to starting or running this business and how you overcame them?
I’ve had to work through 15 years of programming. Primary and secondary school taught me to be an employee, I had to relearn business and learn how to be an entrepreneur and work for myself.
There was a lot of mindset work that I had to go through. I would say there were 2 main obstacles. 1) Mindset work 2) Learning my value and how to market myself. I hired coaches and started following people who are achieving the results I desired.
Let's talk about the services you offer, who do you help, and how do you help?
I help accountants grow their business by expanding into the cannabis industry. I provide the training and the resources they need to be successful in their cannabis accounting business.
What's your best advice for those that desire to improve their business finances in the cannabis niche?
Hire a cannabis trained accountant.
With all that you've accomplished so far, did setting goals contribute to your success so far?
Yes, you have to believe it before you see it.

You get 1% better every day. You should be doing something everyday to get you closer to your goal whether it be get some type of training/learn something new (i.e. read a book or a newsletter, attend a seminar, watch a video, etc...), hire support, work on marketing, work on branding.
