Can you tell us what type of business you run and how long you've been operating this business? 

Emmviron is a business plan analytics firm and we help businesses achieve expectations through our service delivery. We were commissioned in 2019 to tackle the overwhelming deficiencies and challenges that are prevalent in the business world. Our mission is to build successful businesses all across the globe with the right strategies, technology and data. We are a leading business, analytics and tech firm that impacts startups and existing companies and enables them to scale up real big in their industry. We render services ranging from business planning & development, data analytics, data science, market research and corporate training. 


Can you share with us some details about how you got started in the Marketing and Business Consulting Industry?

In the last quarter of 2019, Emmviron wasn’t yet into the marketing and business consulting industry, we entered into that industry in the first quarter of 2020 when we were fully convinced of our input and contribution into that industry. I had to take a few professional courses and dedicate myself to self learning and building capacity to function properly and professionally in that industry. I never had any background in marketing and business consulting until I had to develop capacity and skill sets through self-learning and a few professional training. I got to realize that African businesses aren't built on a solid foundation and looking through the stats of how businesses fail in Africa is so alarming.


We transition into that industry in order to bridge the gap and try to reduce the rate at which businesses fail. From our findings, we were able to deduce that many business owners or teams have the technicality to make a business operate seamlessly but lack the strategies and knowledge to launch and grow a business effectively. Many don't know how to organize and coordinate the entire business operation, they tend to focus on what can’t really make the business thrive. As many other aspects of a company are also important, the aspect of marketing and business development can’t be over emphasized. So we entered the industry with the intention of helping businesses in their business planning and development as well as building a solid sales funnel and marketing plan to remain viable and compete significantly with the big figures. 


If you've had some challenges and roadblocks along the way, Can you share with us what some of those challenges have been in regards to starting or running this business and how you overcame them?

One of my major challenges which I had to overcome with time is the aspect of getting the right team members who believe in the vision of Emmviron. I had to let our first employees leave based on their lack commitment to the company which is a strong factor limiting our progress. I see that without them, I can even achieve a lot myself compared to when they are around, because I will have to communicate and address their inefficiencies over and over again which was reducing my productivity even at work. So I had to release all of them, then come up with another strategy that later pays off. 


Also, we had a challenge of getting our first clients because of the diversity of services we render in the first quarter of 2020 and our audience were confused. We had to limit our service and conduct market research while focusing on a particular market niche and audience. It pays off.


Entering into the international market is also one of our challenges but we are gradually overcoming that aspect with the right partnership. We are looking forward to partnering with companies of like mind so we can expand even more better into the international market.


What do you think is the biggest change that has happened in your industry in the last year?

Well, I will say that working virtually really pays off because a lot of expenses allocated to our office space were reduced during the Covid period. We are working from home now during the pandemic but however, we are looking forward to setting up a new office space in the first quarter of 2022 as we have some new and exciting products we are working on and about to launch very soon. Details of the product can’t be disclosed now as we are still working in the background to get it to limelight.

We can set up a data driven model for them, analyze and visualize their data and enable them to expand to other markets through our market research service. Our products which we plan to launch soon are specifically for a particular industry and niche.


When it comes to bookkeeping, what sets Emmviron apart from similar businesses in your industry?

We make use of some tools for bookkeeping actually. Our payment platform has an integration of how much money was paid into the company and how much is going out.



With all that you've accomplished so far, did setting goals contribute to your success so far?

Definitely, setting goals, having a plan and working with it is very much important and it has contributed significantly to our success story. Well sometimes not everything we plan on paper effectively comes out 100%, some unforeseen circumstances can alter the process, so the ability to adapt to sudden changes and find our way around is one of our major success factors.



Here at GoalSetters, we like to say " A Goal Without A Plan is Just A Wish", what's your advice on the best way that people can go about accomplishing the goals that they set?

You need to be very realistic with the type of goals you set. Try to wear a shoe that size, then grow with that shoe until your leg is big enough to replace it and get another one. 

Look at it this way, if you wear an oversized shoe, you won’t be able to run with it effectively, so set a goal you can run with.

Then, it’s far beyond just setting goals, you need to take action and the time is NOW. Don’t wait for when you will have the capacity, you can build capacity by starting. 

Lastly, stay consistent and have a positive mindset. You can’t grow in isolation, so embrace the right person, team and partners that will take your business to the next level.
