Mindset, I believe, is the first challenge I had to overcome. I was raised with the mentality of go to college, get a good job, and retire. My family never spoke about owning a business, entrepreneurship, or the true freedom that can come with starting a business you are passionate about.

Can you tell us what type of business you run and how long you've been operating this business?

I own and operate a credit repair company. I also offer services to help legally structure your business and establish personal and business credit. My business was incorporated in March and I officially launched in June. I completed credit repair specialist training and became board certified in May.

Can you share with us some details about how you got started in the Credit Repair Industry?

I decided to start my journey in the credit repair industry after my personal struggle with credit. I was recently divorced and during that process, I decided to take responsibility for the joint accounts, for the sake of efficiency and simplicity. In hindsight, this was not the best decision as it left me with the entire profile of each of those bills.

I decided to pay for credit repair services but did not get much change in my credit score or profile. I felt helpless as every door of opportunity I tried to enter was slammed in my face.

It made me wonder how many others endured the same feeling that I was experiencing. This motivated me to start researching credit repair, which led me to my first mentor- Ashley Massengill. I signed up for her academy and was able to learn the basics of business structuring and credit repair.

Since the completion of the academy, I ha ha ve connected with several different mentors, all of whom have increased my knowledge and motivated me to continue my journey.

Have you had any previous businesses before this one? What was the outcome of those businesses?

In 2018/2019, I attempted to have a life-coaching business. Although I was a certified life coach and have a B.A. and M.A. in Psychology, I knew nothing about structuring a business so I had no legal structure.

I offered my services through Thumbtack and was able to secure clients. During that time, I lost my grandmother-the person who raised me. I was not in the best space mentally to provide services to others so I ethically closed out each client and terminated my account.

I also attempted a travel business. That venture turned out to be more multi-level marketing than business ownership. Also, the leadership was not the best and seemed to only worry about how your performance affected their stats.

What gave you the drive to continue forward with another business even after having previously failed business ventures?

My genuine desire to help others is the driving force behind starting another business. The generational wealth I want to help build is empowerment through knowledge, especially within my community. I want to contribute to the normalization of shared resources, information, and ideas.

You've definitely had some challenges and roadblocks along the way. Can you share with us what some of those challenges have been in regards to starting or running this business and how you overcame them?

Mindset, I believe, is the first challenge I had to overcome. I was raised with the mentality of go to college, get a good job, and retire.

My family never spoke about owning a business, entrepreneurship, or the true freedom that can come with starting a business you are passionate about.

Once I was able to open my mind to the possibility of entrepreneurship, the game changed for me. Other obstacles that I have overcome include financing my dream, monetizing it, and marketing it. These seem to be recurring challenges with the growth of business, but ones that have become mildly easier to adjust to.

Let's talk about the services you offer, who do you help, and how do you help?

We are very happy to offer credit repair services to those individuals who are looking to improve their financial situation, dream of home ownership, or would like to purchase reliable transportation or their dream car.

Credit repair consultations are available to all; however, some will not qualify for services. We ensure that each client is the best fit for our program and want the client to feel that we are the best choice, as well.

We also offer credit building options for those who need to build positive credit while repairing credit.

Our most popular services are the business structuring and business credit building services. With each of these services, we guide the individuals through the process of legally structuring their business and/or establishing business credit using their EIN only.

Through our research within the community, we found that most small business owners were using their personal credit to fund their dreams. We offer these services individually or as a package deal that includes personal credit repair.

Other offerings include student loan consolidation assistance, budgeting assistance, and link to a stocks and forex mentor.

What's your best advice for those that desire to improve their finances?

BE HONEST WITH YOURSELF! A lot of times we will blindly spend, blindly swipe, blindly sign up for a new recurring bill. And then at the end of the month we question where the money has gone.

I say this because this was once me. I did not have a budget, didn’t know how to organize one, and surely did not know how to stick to one. So be honest with yourself, be honest with your budget, and stay in your financial lane.

With all that you've accomplished so far, did setting goals contribute to your success so far?

YES! Without goals I was very confused and overwhelmed. This happened a lot in the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey.

I had a mentor who told me I was “fake” busy because I had a lot on my to-do lists but didn’t have much to show for my work. He told me I needed to get more organized and make SMART goals for each day, for personal, work, and business. This helped to organize my mind and my thoughts and I felt less chaotic.

Here at GoalSetters, we like to say " A Goal Without A Plan is Just A Wish", what's your advice on the best way that people can go about accomplishing the goals that they set?

Have accountability partners. One of the best things that came out of enrolling in the AM/PM Academy was benign connected to my accountability partner group.

It's such an amazing feeling to be able to vent to others who can understand what I'm dealing with. To be able to flush out ideas with a group of people that I know won’t backstab me and take my idea. To know that they are praying for my success as much as I am praying for my own and theirs.

In closing, for those that may require your services or may need mentorship, how can they connect with you?
