Can you tell us what type of business you run and how long you've been operating this business?

Yes! We have been in operation for two and a half years. Our business is media production as with a life coaching consulting arm. Our company’s name is The ShakeBack Media Group which embodies real life stories both inside and outside of sports. My wife Patrice and I are certified life coaches in the state of Texas.

I always had a passion for sports. You can even say I’m not just a fan, but a fanatic. Having played basketball in middle school, high school, and intramural in college, that competitive spirit was birthed at an early age and still burns today. My favorite sport is baseball. The sport I played the best was basketball. Football is the sport I coached the best. When I observed what was going on in the sports media, it clicked and now is my calling.

My spiritual mentor has told me several times about quitting what you are doing. Basically, if you are doing whatever it is you are trying to establish a legacy without exuberance and the desire to quit, you are not doing it with all of your might. As an entrepreneur, that element is always in place. That is where our “3C”method kicks in.

It is just that; to help someone else. Zig Ziglar once said, “If you help enough people get what they want, you will get everything you want.” Our operation is not the typical machine of looking for stories to tear people down. Our goal is to provide the torn down people a platform to pull themselves up, testify to their shake back, and thus show anyone else that anything can be done.

During our talks you mention a motto that you like to live by, “We build you up and keep building you up so that you can build others up.” How have you seen this influence others to continue to pay it forward?

Absolutely. There are so many things that come against us in this life, no matter what walk of life it is. My personal story is at the foundation for the ShakeBack Media Group and that there should be no shame, judgment, or embarrassment for when we do make mistakes. Or, decisions we have made that put us in precarious situations are set up for a shake back moment. 

With all that you've accomplished so far, did setting goals contribute to your success so far?

OH ABSOLUTELY! Goal setting is quite the road map for everyone to get to their desired destination. Some roads are curvy. Some are bumpy. Some are straight. Some roads have dead ends. However, the road less traveled is that for a reason.

Here at GoalSetters, we like to say " A Goal Without A Plan is Just A Wish", what's your advice on the best way that people can go about accomplishing the goals that they set?

Whew, that’s loaded. In a nutshell, wake up everyday with the understanding that the greatest competitor to yourself is yourself. Here is one of my mottos: "The Best Person You Will Ever Meet is the Person Staring At You When You Look Into The Mirror." - Willie Epting, Jr.
