When I finally decided I was going to just build a business and not work for anyone else, I immediately got an amazing job offer that paid over double what I had ever made before and way more than I was making in a brand new business.

Maya Weinreb

CEO Solvency Now Bookkeeping Firm

Can you tell us what type of business you run and how long you've been operating this business?

I own a bookkeeping firm and I have been in business for over 3 years.

Can you share with us some details about how you got started in the Bookkeeping Industry?

I was an office manager for a landscaping company and I was sending out invoices and I noticed I was really good with numbers and bookkeeping stuff. I then decided to go into bookkeeping as a career and got on the job training and then got various bookkeeping jobs until I became the CFO of a marketing company for a few years. I was also doing freelance work to help my friends with their companies on the side and eventually got so busy with doing that that I decided to take the leap and start my own bookkeeping firm.

If you've had some challenges and roadblocks along the way. Can you share with us what some of those challenges have been in regards to starting or running this business and how you overcame them?

Many challenges… When I finally decided I was going to just build a business and not work for anyone else, I immediately got an amazing job offer that paid over double what I had ever made before and way more than I was making in a brand new business. I curled up in the fetal position and called all my friends, asking what I should do. They all said I should take the job and I explained to each one why I shouldn’t… that’s when I realized I had already decided.

Employees! Hiring! I had to learn the hard way that your company is who you have in it. I have gone through a lot of people to find the amazing team I have now. When clients say it's hard to find a good bookkeeper, I just say, “You’re telling me!?” I have looked high and low. I can train new bookkeepers too and have done that several times, but that’s not what I need to be concentrating on as a new company. I need to be finding qualified people and showing them my standards and then going back to marketing sales and quality control.

Let's talk about the services you offer, who do you help, and how do you help?

We do full service bookkeeping, meaning AP, AR, payroll, payroll taxes, sales tax, 1099’s, tracking financial transactions and basically anything a business owner needs to handle their company finances. We also partner with CPAs and tax preparers so that our clients are covered in those areas as well.

We use exclusively Quickbooks Online as we have found that to be the best fit for remote bookkeeping and for all of our clients.

We help small business owners in service based industries as well as eCommerce. Some of our current clients include doctors, lawyers, marketing companies, influencers, Youtubers, real estate investors, actors, event production companies, amazon sellers, etc.

We help companies that are generally in the $150,000 to 5 million annual revenue range.

We also do consultations for smaller companies as well as QuickBooks Online training.

What's your best advice for those that desire to improve their finances?

Get a good bookkeeper! You need to know your numbers. When you know your numbers you can make good financial decisions. Without having accurate numbers you will always just be guessing and hoping for the best.

With all that you've accomplished so far, did setting goals contribute to your success so far?

Absolutely!! I have weekly, monthly, and yearly goals written down and review them weekly to make sure I'm moving in the right direction.

Here at GoalSetters, we like to say " A Goal Without A Plan is Just A Wish", what's your advice on the best way that people can go about accomplishing the goals that they set?

I fully agree. I think the best way is to write a plan for how to accomplish that goal and then break it down into weekly bite sized pieces so you are always working on achieving your goals.

In closing, for those that may require your services or may need mentorship, how can they connect with you?
