The biggest roadblock was myself and having the courage to do it. I have a strong work ethic and I’m a fantastic bookkeeper but I’m not the world's best sales person and the thought of having to be both was and is out of my comfort zone and something I still work at everyday.

Julie Sotelo

Founder  Bookkeeping Destination

Can you tell us what type of business you run and how long you've been operating this business?

I have bookkeeping firm that I started in 2020.

Can you share with us some details about how you got started in the Bookkeeping Industry?

I love numbers, organization & the hunt to make things more efficient and when I found bookkeeping I fell in love with it.

If you've had some challenges and roadblocks along the way, Can you share with us what some of those challenges have been in regards to starting or running this business and how you overcame them?

The biggest roadblock was myself and having the courage to do it. I have a strong work ethic and I’m a fantastic bookkeeper but I’m not the world's best sales person and the thought of having to be both was and is out of my comfort zone and something I still work at everyday.

I’m also lucky to have several people in my life that encouraged and believed in me.

Let's talk about the services you offer, who do you help, and how do you help?

I specialize in helping those in the e-commerce industry with their bookkeeping. My mission is to help business owners focus on running their business with the peace of mind that their bookkeeping is being handled by a company that specializes in their industry.

What's your best advice for those that desire to improve their ECOMM business finances?

Up to date & accurate bookkeeping is paramount. If you have this it will aid you in making better business decisions, keep you in compliance and keep the stress of your books from always being on your shoulders. I strive to be an alley to my clients and someone they can come to for advice.

With all that you've accomplished so far, did setting goals contribute to your success so far?

Of course, I set goals for myself/my firm and am always coming back to them to update them, to see what is working and what isn’t working or when I need to be reminded of just how far I’ve come.

Here at GoalSetters, we like to say " A Goal Without A Plan is Just A Wish", what's your advice on the best way that people can go about accomplishing the goals that they set?

I love the SMART method.

S=Specific M=Measurable A=Attainable R=Relevent T=Time Base

I also commit my goals to paper and write them down, sometimes I put them where I can be reminded of them. I also think of my why,  my why is why I do things and what motivates me. I have pictures at my desk of some of my whys which always includes my family but also includes things like helping others, less stress, freedom, an much mush more.

In closing, for those that may require your services or may need mentorship, how can they connect with you?
